After our first ADGA Linear Appraisal, I reached out to Ellen because I had 3 areas I wanted to improve in my does, and asked if she had any recommendations of lines of hers that would help fix those areas for us. She referred me to Mocha Lite, and she still had a buck kid available that season, so we brought Cold Brew home! He’s a gorgeous buck, long and level top line, a beautiful wide rump, and tight shoulders. We freshened 3 of his daughters this spring, and all of them had lovely FF udders! Each of their dams is wildly different from the other in terms of udder appearance, and although his daughters each has a different udder from each other, they all have wonderful attachments (whereas one of the dams lacks a little), smooth fore udders, and all of them have gorgeous conformation.

We had the opportunity to bring in a new goat, and I really went back and forth on if I should bring in a new doe or buck. I decided to bring in a new buck, knowing that it could really launch our genetics forward. Katie Fredin is a friend of mine, and her herd is absolutely stunning, both in the show ring and milk pail. We messaged a lot about our herd goals, and who would be the best fit. Guilianni is an absolutely gorgeous buck, and we were thrilled to have a son of his! Gretl needs no introduction, and I would be truly happy with a herd of udders like hers. We just finished our first kidding season (2025) where we used Hans exclusively on every doe, and his kids are gorgeous. They have beautiful front end assemblies, tight shoulders, beautiful rumps both from hips to pins and are wide thurl to thurl. We kept 3 of his girls (as we do each year, we are a small herd!) and are so excited to see his daughters freshen both in our herd and in others!

I texted Meredith with Howling Goat Farms and told her that I needed a buck who would help tighten shoulders while not sacrificing milk production, and asked if she had anyone she’d recommend. She knows my love of NC Promisedland genetics, and that Killer Whale genetics should pair well with our Sugar Moon based does, and we both love Nemesis! When she showed me a picture of Snip Snap’s FF udder, I said absolutely. Tic Tac is maturing into a gorgeous buck, and since we have some genetics that are pretty closely related within some of our other bucks (3 of them have Sugar Moon NS Ezekial…), we are thrilled to have Tic Tac as our outcross buck to bring some fresh genetics in.

Fiyero is a line breeding on Sugar Moon NS Ezekial x ELITE SG Sugar Moon RB Gianna 2 * M / 2 * D AR VVEE89 as both Hans and Fancee’s sires are sons of Ezekial x Gianna. We are hoping that his kids will really add milk for us! We retained his full sister, and are really excited to see Fiyero and Fury mature. Fiyero is the first home bred buck we are keeping, and we really love his conformation. He is long and level, with a beautiful wide rump, beautiful front end assembly and tight shoulders.

Diane from Fiesta Texas had been on a reservation list for goats we bought pregnant, and we honored the previous owner’s reservation list when we brought them in. She and I had messaged about possibly swapping kids at some point in the future, and her herd has a lot of Sugar Moon, which I absolutely love. When keep in touch, and I was excited to follow her use AI in 2025, and she had great success with it! She messaged me about a buck kid we still had available, and let me know that she had a buck kid available from AI out of Ezekial and Cha Cha, and was up for a buck kid swap! We are absolutely THRILLED to have an Ezekial son of our own in our herd. Riverdance really packs a punch for our little herd, genetics wise, and we are so excited to see what he contributes. He’s got a lovely conformation to him, and Cha Cha is a beautiful 2F doe. Her grand sire (on her sire’s side) is also Zena, so we’ve got a line breeding happening on NC Promisedland SIA Zena as well in Riverdance! Zena is also the dam to our Sugar Moon V Gabriella, and we love her genetics.
